Illinois move-in cost calculator

For renters budgeting a move and landlords checking what their listing really asks for. Enter the amounts and see the cash needed before the keys.

What counts toward move-in cost

Usually the first month's rent, a security deposit or a non-refundable move-in fee, any one-time pet fee, and the first month of required fees such as parking. Application fees are paid earlier, when you apply. From January 1, 2027, every required amount must be on the first page of the lease, so the lease should let you add it up exactly like this.

Make your disclosure in about two minutes. Landlords: publish these numbers once on a fee page so renters see the real move-in cost before they apply.
